No matter how busy I am with taking pictures of others, I always make time to take pictures of, well . . . my baby. She’s really not what others would consider a baby, but she’s my baby. Little Miss Kara is my 2 ½ year old daughter. She is beautiful on the inside and out. There is really no amount of words that could describe the love that I have for this child. She’s my everything, and she has been my photographic muse, since the day she was born.
I like to walk through life with old friends and old shoes.
Welcome to the Old Shoe Photography Blog! On this blog you will find photographs of my recent artistic adventures, combined with a narrative of my experience. I hope you enjoy it and will visit frequently. Thanks!

All Dogs Go to Heaven
Rachel and Cody have been together, since Rachel’s junior year, in high school. At only 4 weeks old, Cody was a gift from Rachel’s parents. Cody has been a dependable friend to Rachel for almost half of her life. So, a few weeks ago, when Rachel found out that Cody had a tumor on his heart and did not have much longer to live, she asked if I would take some pictures of Cody for her. What a wonderful way to celebrate the life of a true friend and create some final happy memories together. I was all too happy to take them. Although, Cody does not have much more time on this Earth, he will spend the rest of his days being loved and cared for by Rachel’s mom, Diane, who has cared for him, since Rachel got married. Thank you for letting me be a part of this very touching memory.
Post Engagement Pictures
Jen and Brian should look familiar, because I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph their wedding, this past September. Jen has been a big supporter of my photography from the very beginning, so I asked Jen if she and Brian would mind doing some promotional “engagement” shots for me . . . even though they’re already married :).
Jen and Brian are just one of those couples who have fun together and genuinely enjoy each others company. I had such a great time with them, despite the cold. I think I was laughing just about the whole time we were shooting. It wasn’t until I started editing the photographs that I realized that I had caught some really tender, loving moments between these two. Enjoy!

The Musician
Brett is a senior in high school, but to look at him and talk to him, you’d think he was in his twenties. Brett is a musician, laidback, and wasn't really into the formality of your typical senior portraits. He wanted two things: a picture with Cincinnati in the background and pictures with his guitar. We did both, but started with Brett playing a little impromptu jam session. From what I could hear, he is an accomplished guitar player. He plays guitar for the band One More Go. Brett played his first show with the band, this past Sunday, and had shared how nervous he was. Judging from how he played in front of me, he had nothing to be nervous about. Check out Brett’s band One More Go on Facebook and MySpace.

B-E-A -utiful!
Okay, I literally squealed with excitement, when I looked at these photos. I just couldn’t believe how lucky I was to have gotten the chance to take this gorgeous young lady’s senior pictures.
When I spoke to Katie’s stepmom about a location for her portraits, she said that Katie wanted something pretty. I took Katie to my favorite local park, Alms Park. It’s exactly what I would call “pretty”. However, the beauty of the photos had nothing to do with the location. Katie was the star. Despite the cold weather, she managed to put on a smile that would warm up the coldest of days. Thanks so much for choosing me. :)
