Too Pretty for Pictures

It had been about two months, since I last visited this little lady for pictures, and little Layla was not too fond of her picture taking experience.  In short, she was miserable.  So at 3 months, her mother, Jill, and I hoped for a better scenario.  Well, much to our dismay, Layla was not ready for her picture to be taken this time either.  Layla was a very sleepy baby and we were rudely cutting in on her napping. The poor dear fell alseep on the floor, after mommy, daddy, little brother Parker, and myself, finally called it quits.  I didn't get too many pictures of this little beauty, but I snuck a few when she wasn't paying attention.

Butterfly Show

I love to take photographs . . . that is obvious.  But, I have to admit that the reason I started getting into photography and my most favorite thing to do is document the special moments that I share with my family.  Our day at the Butterfly Show was one of those moments.  My daughter is blessed with two of the best Grandma's anyone could ever have, . . . but I also have the most awesome Grandma in the world, and I am happy to share her with my daughter.

Great Grandma Williams came along for mine and Kara's first experience of the Krohn's Conservatory Butterfly Show.  We loved it!  Kara was super excited about the butterflies and I was snapping photos left and right.

It was a great day and was topped off with a trip to Schneider's Sweet Shop.  Great Grandma had to learn the hard way that Kara is a giant mooch and ended up sharing half of her mint chocolate chip ice cream cone with Kara.  These are the moments I treasure.

Once Upon a Birthday

On occasion, I like to post items which are personal to me and my life.  So, I've chosen to create a posting about my daughter's birthday party.  My daughter, Kara, turned 3 years old, this past April 15th.  She requested a Snow White birthday party.  Now, some of you parents out there might already know that it is extremely hard to find just Snow White party supplies.  In that event, Mom got a little creative and made some of her own party supplies that went along with the Snow White theme.  Everything was a hit.  Kara loved it all and it was a very magical birthday celebration.

Our Magic Mirror "Mirror, mirror on the wall, whose the fairest one of all."

My first birthday cake, well . . . cupcake cake.  It's in the shape of a tiara.
The Poison Apples that cause the Sleeping Death.
Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho its off to work we go.  I snuck these jewels from the mine.
Kara loved the Magic Potion.
The Birthday Girl!
The Bounce House was the biggest hit of the day.  We borrowed it from my husband's cousin.
Make a wish!

Little Annsley

Baby Annsley's life has been documented with pictures, since before she was born.  Annsley's parents, Erich and Erica Huff, are one of the many who have followed the trend of documenting their lives with help of photography.  Now I know that taking family photos isn't some grand and new idea, but with the introduction of digital photography, we see more and more families marking occasions and expressing their personalities artistically and creatively through photography.

Erich and Erica have enlisted the help of some wonderful professional photographers in the past, so I was extremely flattered when they asked me to help them with Annsley's 6 month pictures.  Annsley is one of those babies that when you see her you think she might be one of the most beautiful babies you have ever seen.  And then she smiles . . . and YOU KNOW she is one of the most beautiful babies you've ever seen.  I felt very lucky to have had the chance to photograph such a gorgeous and happy baby.  I had great time.
