Beauty and the Beach

This year, my family was lucky enough to be treated to a week-long vacation in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, courtesy of my wonderful mother and step-father.  As I had not taken my daughter's 3 year portrait yet, I jumped at the chance to have some unique photos of her on the beach.  3 year olds do not really care to have their pictures taken, so little Miss Kara made her father and I work for the shots we wanted.  With the lingering reward of ice cream hanging over her head, Kara, her father, and I pulled through with what I consider to be some pretty awesome shots.  Enjoy!

Pizza Night

Something that should be known about my daughter is that she is a helper.  She loves to help with just about everything.  She loves to help so much, in fact, that she often gets upset with me if I won't let her help me with something.  Not surprisingly, she loves to help me in the kitchen.  The child loves to cook.  Whether it's something complicated, like baking cookies or simply stirring up a pitcher of Crystal Light, she is there and ready to assist.

Lucky for her, I love to cook and I don't mind making a mess.

The photos below are of the Matthews families first attempt at making homemade pizza.  It was a fun and delicious, little family project that we will definitely be trying again.

A Nature Walk with Jack and Claire

Even at 10am, it was quite a warm day at the park with little Jack and Claire.  But like most people, who were sick of the clouds and rain, we were appreciative of our sunny day.  All the wild life was a buzz, at Alexandria Park.  We met up with a duck, some turtles, lots of frogs, and a questionable fish that had a rather large fin sticking up out of the water.  It didn't really feel like I was doing a job with Jack and Claire, because they made it feel just like another day in the park.  I had a wonderful time with these little guys and hope to see them again in the future.

Too Pretty for Pictures

It had been about two months, since I last visited this little lady for pictures, and little Layla was not too fond of her picture taking experience.  In short, she was miserable.  So at 3 months, her mother, Jill, and I hoped for a better scenario.  Well, much to our dismay, Layla was not ready for her picture to be taken this time either.  Layla was a very sleepy baby and we were rudely cutting in on her napping. The poor dear fell alseep on the floor, after mommy, daddy, little brother Parker, and myself, finally called it quits.  I didn't get too many pictures of this little beauty, but I snuck a few when she wasn't paying attention.
