Baby Brody

I introduce to you, Brody.  I’ve known Brody’s father, Brian, since the 5th grade.  And I have to say that Brian was the cutest little kid you’ve ever seen.  Big blue eyes, little button nose, and always dressed perfectly.  The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree with little Brody.  He’s just about the cutest thing you’ve ever seen and was an awesome subject for picture taking.  I need not do anything but to call his name and the child looked right at the camera.  You can’t ask for anything more than that when taking pictures of babies.

"Strickley" Adorable

I love taking pictures of anything and everything, but I have to say that the teacher in me just loves to take pictures of children.  So I was super excited to take pictures of my old friend, Heather Strickley-Schultz’s kids.  Heather posts lots of pictures of her children, on Facebook, and these kids are flippin’ adorable.  I couldn’t wait.  Brady, Brenna, and Bella did not disappoint.  By the end of the session, Brady and Brenna were helping pick out spots to have their picture taken.  I love that!

I had an awesome time with this gang.  And . . . today is Brenna’s 3rd birthday, so I have to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  I hope all you birthday wishes come true. :)

And Baby Makes Three

Karen and Kim, like many couples, thought long and hard about becoming parents.  After almost two years of long conversations, and doctors appointments, Kim became pregnant with their first child.  Both of these women are strong, intelligent, active women.  It is very evident in the photos that they both have a great sense of humor and are clearly in love.  I have no doubt that this baby will grow up to be as strong, beautiful, and well-rounded as these two women.  This was my first maternity session and I can't tell you how honored I was to take these photographs.  I had a great time, both taking them and editing them.  I can't wait to take BABY pictures!

Cute, Cuter, and Cutest

One of the reason I love photography is that it has been a way for me to reconnect with folks that I have lost touch with over the years.  Andrew, Lily, and Nathan are the children of an old work buddy of mine, Tessa.  I haven't seen Tessa in over 5 years.  Tessa and I used to work together, at Toddler Inn, which was the employee daycare for St. Elizabeth.  The last time I saw Tessa, she had one little guy, Andrew.  Since then, her children have multiplied to 3, with the addition of adorable Lily and Nathan.  We shot our session on a cool Autumn morning, in Devou Park.  The children were not only stunningly gorgeous, but very well-behaved.  I had a wonderful time with this crew.  I can't wait to photograph them again.

The Answer to Happiness

Yesterday, as I was getting ready to leave with my husband for a nice relaxing wedding anniversary dinner, I reached in the pocket of my jacket and found a little folded up piece of paper. My jacket is second-hand, and when I saw it, I knew I had to have it. First of all it was my favorite color, green, and it was corduroy. It is very cozy, and perfect for these brisk fall days. When I looked at the piece of paper, I recognized it immediately as being a fortune from a fortune cookie. Fortune cookies . . .yum. Anyway . . . the curious person that I am had to unfold it and see what my second-hand fortune said. I had to be very careful when I opened it, as it had been through the wash and was pretty fragile. I was not successful in keeping it in tack, but when I put the pieces together on my table I could read it clearly. "Patience is the answer to happiness."

I thought this fortune was perfect. Although, my anniversary isn't until Friday, I was celebrating my marriage to my husband now, and patience is extremely important in a relationship. And my own personal happiness is almost always based on the status of my relationship with John Boy. (Yes, I call my husband John Boy and so does everyone else) I can't say that I always have patience, but I know that it's important. They also say, "Patience is a virtue." I believe that.

"Patience is the answer to happiness". It's very good advice and a good fortune. I wonder if the person who got it before me thought so too.
