Happy Birthday to Baby Brody

One of the great things about photographing babies and children is getting the chance to watch them grow and change.  It's been 6 months, since Brody stunned everyone with his sapphire blue eyes, in my first session with him, this past October.  Brody did not disappoint with his "1st" Birthday Pictures.

Not only is he super cute, but he catches on quick.  As we were shooting, I would call Brody's name and wave at him to get his attention.  Well, soon enough, he decided that this lady wants me to wave back.  Towards the end of the session, every time I called Brody's name he would wave at me.  What a cutie!

Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP)

As Easter gets closer and closer, images of fuzzy baby chicks, flowers, colorful eggs, and BUNNIES spring to mind.  So, I decided it might be fun to incorporate a live bunny into one of my spring photo sessions.  This is when SAAP came into the picture (no pun intended).  I contacted SAAP to invite one or two of their precious fluffy bunnies to make an appearance in a photo shoot.

Ms. Suzi Lipps came to my rescue as the resident "bunny lady" of SAAP.  She is now fostering 12 or more bunny rabbits, at her private home, to aid in the mission of SAAP.  SAAP does not have a permanent shelter to house abused or stray pets, but relies on the volunteered help of people like Suzi to house and care for these wonderful animals.

When choosing to invite an animal to share your home, please consider rescuing a stray or abused animal, from SAAP or another local animal shelter.  SAAP also will graciously accept donations in the form of money or pet supplies.  For more information on how you can help, please visit the link www.adoptastray.com .

Below are photos of the two bunnies that we invited into our home, this weekend.  It was such a treat for my daughter, Kara, and I .  We really loved having them around and they added a unique quality to my photo session.

More to Love

Looks can be deceiving with Baby Hudson.  While Hudson looks as if he might be 6-9months old, he is only a mere 3 months.  Hudson Lee Townsley was born this past December, at a whopping 10lbs.  He is off the charts in height and weight for his age, according to the growth charts used at his pediatrician.  However, his two mommies, Karen and Kim, whom allowed me to take maternity photos of them, this past October, only see Hudson's size as more to love.  Hudson was a very calm contented subject for my photos, and I can only attribute that to the wonderful loving environment that he is growing up in.  Karen and Kim provided a very laid back and calm photography experience and it definitely paid off.  Now . . . please enjoy the photos of this beautiful baby boy.

Blogs and Babies are in Bloom

It's been a long time since my last blog, but with the warmer weather and the beautiful blooming flowers of the spring, come the beautiful bouncing babies.  So when I was asked to take newborn pictures of this gorgeous little girl, I jumped at the chance.  Little Layla is the new baby sister of Parker, whom I photographed this past fall for his 2 year pictures.  Just like her old brother, Layla has been blessed with the face of an angel.  Enjoy the new pics and look for more blogs to come soon.  Thanks!

My Girl, My Muse

No matter how busy I am with taking pictures of others, I always make time to take pictures of, well . . . my baby.  She’s really not what others would consider a baby, but she’s my baby.  Little Miss Kara is my 2 ½ year old daughter.  She is beautiful on the inside and out.  There is really no amount of words that could describe the love that I have for this child.  She’s my everything, and she has been my photographic muse, since the day she was born.

All Dogs Go to Heaven

Rachel and Cody have been together, since Rachel’s junior year, in high school.  At only 4 weeks old, Cody was a gift from Rachel’s parents.  Cody has been a dependable friend to Rachel for almost half of her life. So, a few weeks ago, when Rachel found out that Cody had a tumor on his heart and did not have much longer to live, she asked if I would take some pictures of Cody for her.  What a wonderful way to celebrate the life of a true friend and create some final happy memories together.  I was all too happy to take them.  Although, Cody does not have much more time on this Earth, he will spend the rest of his days being loved and cared for by Rachel’s mom, Diane, who has cared for him, since Rachel got married.  Thank you for letting me be a part of this very touching memory.
